Minimum of 2 years Human Resources experience.
Have obtained a certificate or degree with an emphasis in Human Resources.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple demands and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preference given to candidates with experience using ADP “Workforce Now” or other HRIS programs, and to those with experience in the non-profit sector.
About the position:
Full cycle recruitment processes for volunteer and staff positions, including screening, selecting and interviewing candidates. Accurate facilitation of the offer process, reference checks, employment agreements, and ensuring new hire administration and on-boarding documentation is complete.
Work in sync with management and HR to determine staffing needs and appropriate strategies and execution plans. Act as a trusted advisor to the supervisors/managers in the assessment and qualification of candidates.
Assist in leading the implementation and maintenance of a new HRIS database, working closely with payroll, IT and HR Manager to improve processes.
Ensure the agency is adhering to the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement in respects to recruitment and leadership development and maintain HR best practices.
Provide backup to the Training Coordinator during volunteer training.
Reports to the Manager, Finance and Human Resources.
