Like A Second Family
Customer Service Manager/Cabinetry Consultant (Current Employee), Birmingham, ALJuly 6, 2013
Pros: hours, friendly staff
Cons: no benefits
The service staff stays very busy. The customers are great and a lot of them are like family.I have learned a great deal working here. I started when I was 18 and I have been for over 10 years. One of the main things I learned, that has helped me in my professional and personal life is patience and how to listen. We have a great report with all of our – more... customers. The owners are always here and are very friendly. We can always go to them when we need something or have an issue. Our service staff is small and we are very close. We always try to motivate one another and I will miss them. The hardest part of the job is not having enough staff to cover the work load but we make it work. The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people and building trust and relationships with them. – less

Accounts Payable/Data Entry (Former Employee), Merrillville, INJune 21, 2013
Pros: only 37 hours a week
Cons: bad pay
At this job its sit at your desk don't talk to anybody and don't have any fun. Management is on you if you don't follow these rules. They don't mind if you punch in early but don't ever start getting ready to leave before your time to leave. Lots of work little pay.

Accounting Manager (Current Employee), Long Beach, CAJune 11, 2013
Typical day at work entails managing the accounting department and interacting with employees in various departments. I try to make my work environment enjoyable for myself and others even during stressful times. I am always pleasant to my co-workers. The hardest part of my job is the commute. The most enjoyable part of my job is the autonomy the owners – more... give me. They have tremendous trust in me and my ability to get the job done without having to micro-manage. – less

Great opportunity to make good money
Membership Director (Current Employee), Appleton, WIApril 3, 2013
Pros: schedule flexibility
Cons: uncertainty of payroll funds, ownership, and who to report to, very unorgainzed
The company was great to work for during the private ownership, upon take over by corporate we lost all commission assignments and had to cut hours. The service manager does not know how to manage well and plays favoritism with other co-workers as it is her fiance and soon to be brother in law. The company was family run and was a great place to work – more... for. There is too much uncertainty with the business making money and not being paid due to lack of funds for payroll during private ownership. The service manager is always late for work and has an attitude if you ask questions on how to do something. She has to managerial skills and tends to ignore non family workers. – less

Call Center Representative (Former Employee), Crown Point, INJanuary 23, 2013
Pros: it was on my college campus, i had a paid lunchbreak, we were allowed five min breaks if we were too stressed.
Cons: i had to sit pretty much all day, i'm not very fond of talking on the phone.
I worked from 1-9 Monday-Friday. I learned a lot about myself and how to deal with customers over the phone. The managers were very helpful and supportive. The girls worked with were all from the college where I attend. The hardest part of my job was trying to learn all my scripts and answers. I was very worried that I would say it all wrong, but my – more... boss was very encouraging. The best part was being able to work with people I knew. They were very supportive every time one of us made an appointment or a booking. – less

Pros: the buying power they have given me
Cons: the days and hours of work

The hardest part of the job is that it allows no outside life to be with family its 6 some times 7 days a week were you have to depend on others to make a decent amount of money! the most enjoyable part of the job has to be my co-workers an the buying power they have given me. – less

VSR Data Entry Clerk (Former Employee), MerrillvilleJune 8, 2012
Pros: close to home
Cons: everything about the job
VSR data entry was like factory work. Even though I work in a factory now, and the work environment is 100% better. Too much pressure to get your "numbers", poor management, limited to no interaction with employees and management. Salary and benefits were poor.
