Skill Requirements:

*Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

*Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic- Locomotives

*Experience: 5 years

*Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

*Major Work Area: Machinery installation, Maintenance, Service, Overhaul

*Area of Specialization: Servicing and Adjusting of Locomotives, Start-up and testing, Troubleshooting, Mechanical and Pneumatic system repairs

*Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Locomotive Shop

*Type of Machinery or Equipment: Locomotives

*Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (50 lbs)

*Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Service and inspect Locomotives, Repair or replace defective components, Maintain to manufacturers specifications

*Additional Skills: Previous Locomotive Experience or apprenticeship served in a railway an asset. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots ( Internal Metatarsal Protection )

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license
