We are currently seeking a System Tester for a 4-year contract opportunity within Edmonton.

• Responsibilities:

-Create test strategy, test plans and manage and track of test activities
-Define test scenarios and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements
-Execute test scripts in in an Agile/ iterative development environment
-Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions
-Understand the use cases that have been recorded
-Create and maintain a traceability matrix
-Use Rational Quality Manager tool (RQM) to define, execute and report testing
-Update of methods and procedures to ensure continuous improvement of software quality assurance and serviceability standards.
-Record and track defects and verification of fixes
-Work with the developers and/or stakeholders to resolve defects
-Assist in the overall planning of the project

• Mandatory Skills:

Four (4) years experience in the following:
-Creating test scenarios and test cases, using testing methodology,
-Defining, managing and tracking testing activities,
-Executing test scripts in an Agile/ iterative development environment ,
-Testing User Interfaces, back-end processes and testing applications distributed across multiple platforms and technologies,Use cases ,
-Creating traceability matrix ,
-Defects tracking methodology ,
-Using test case ,
-Using test case management and defect tracking tools and;
-Reporting test results to management

Three (3) years experience in the following:
-Creating test strategy, test plans and estimates
-Programming experience in n-tier environment

-I.T. related University Degree and/or NAIT or SAIT IT Diploma

• Desirable Experience:

IBM Rational Quality Manager
