STATE ACCOUNTANT (Current Employee), OR TAMBO DISTRICT MTHATHA - EASTERN CAPE – April 19, 2013
Pros: no free lunches
Cons: working hours are from 08h00 - 16h30 everyday
I am currently working as the State Accountant for the Department of Health. I am working in OR Tambo District and we report to the provincial office in Bhisho. I had an opportunity to work closely with the Financial Manager and I have learnt a lot in the finance field, specifically compilation of reports. We work as a team, after a capturer has captured – more... the payment in the system, it is my responsibility to verify the payment batch before i can authorise the payment. The challenge at times is that our hospitals in the district are in rural areas where there are no facilities, so it becomes difficult at times to consolidate the reports for the entire district and that becomes a threat in meeting deadlines. I enjoy working in the financial field because i put the theory which i learnt from school into practise. – less

Operations Analysts/Program Manager (Former Employee), Tallahassee, Florida – April 8, 2013
Pros: great benefits, feeling of satisfaction
Cons: traveling 90 miles one way to work
A typical day a work was to keep a balance between the section of DOH and the DOH and other various agencies. The co-workers were excellent and were willing to help each other. I learned life values and how to show compassion for clients outside of the department. The hardest part of the job was not being able to complete some parts of it for long periods – more... of time. The most enjoyable part of the job was finally seeing programs, cases, etc., fall into place making it seem that you have the satisfaction that you have completed what the public expected. – less

Team Co-ordinator (Former Employee), Waterloo Road – March 27, 2013
Pros: using the gym. making friends
First started at DoH as a temp and ended with a 5-tear contract which was terminated due to cutbacks.

I found it to be a very friendly place and everyone was helpful. I had contact with upper management and always got on with everyone. I made many friends whilst there and still keep in contact with some of them.

Student trainee (Former Employee), Nelspruit Mpu,alanga – March 26, 2013
Each and every day I learnt new things and developed experience.
I learned that in a work place one needs to work according to guidelines and must always keep in mind the code of conduct and confidentiality.
The management was committed and liable in developing me and ensured that I gain experience.
My co-workers were the more saint people I had ever – more... worked with ,they took me through each and every task and helped me work as a team and face the team work challenges without fear, they also helped me develop a high self esteem.
My hardest part of the job was when I had to reach deadlines in advance when I was also faced with personal problem , but then I managed to reach my deadline whilst I have to still solve my personal family issues.
I enjoyed most each and every new introduced task because it added more credits to my records. – less

I have an amazing team of co-workers, we get along so well and – more... you can feel the team spirit among ourselves. the most enjoyable part of the job is being able to help someone at the end of the day even if its just a little imformation they ask in order to know. – less
