Position: Bartender (Part-time)
Reports to: Outlets Manager
Serves the customer in a prompt and courteous fashion while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency to ensure guest satisfaction.
Greets guests pleasantly. promotes house drinks and food items; utilizes up-selling skills whenever possible to maximize revenues.
Prepares beverages for customers or servers according to standard operating procedures to control costs and provide a consistent product to the guests.
Maintains clean and organized work areas to maximize efficiency; sets up the bar and back bar according to established procedures.
Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers.
Checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting and alcoholic beverage service is questionable; follows state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
Verifies liquor inventory; completes all requisition requirements and stores stock as per approved procedures. Obtains, counts and secures bartender’s bank; distributes and collects bar servers’ banks; documents cash distribution in register drawer.
Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Follows company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Note: Associate will abide by the specific performance standards for their department as communicated to them by their manager.
High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year of bartending experience and/ or hospitality related work experience required. General knowledge of restaurant/lounge. Wine knowledge is an asset. Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Previous experience with a computerized food and beverage system an asset.
Certification and/or License Requirement: Smart Serve Certified.
Skills: Specialized knowledge of mixing drinks, Customer service & Interpersonal communications
Will be required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment.
May be asked to work overtime.
