The best place anyone could work
Alterations Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), MississaugaNovember 19, 2014
Pros: everything aspect is great
Cons: no actual training.. taught by another worker but someone is always there to help you if needed
I am honestly so glad I got to be apart of such an amazing team. David's Bridal is a great place to work at it is very chill and laid back. A typical day would be steaming dresses, making appointments and answering phone calls as an Alterations Customer Service Representative. The management is very great and understandable, they truly care about their – more... employee's. Hardest part of the job might be getting to learning everything... there is a lot to know and is overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it! Davids Bridal is like my second family, all the workers and managers are so sweet and caring. Would definitely recommend this location for anyone interested in pursuing a career with David's Bridal! – less

A very rewarding experience!
Wedding Consultant (Former Employee), Toronto, OntarioAugust 21, 2014
Pros: brides satisfaction with company's selection.
Cons: long hours without breaks
From the moment I greet my future bride-to-be till selecting their dream dress, marks a rewarding and pleasant experience for me. Multi-tasking is key at this work place, where you are required to listen to your client's needs, answer phone calls and doing mental work at the same time.

Exciting and fast-paced environment
Jr Stylist (Former Employee), London, ONApril 4, 2014
Pros: great work environment, fellow co-workers are friendly
Cons: sometimes you don't get to take a full break because it's so busy, head office is not the most organized, not enough hours for "seasonal" help.
I only ever worked weekends, which were always busy. There was always something to do.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Toronto, OntarioAugust 26, 2013
Pros: team of employees
Cons: manager
David's Bridal has been a wonderful experience. Not only was I working a part-time job, and helping customers, I was being apart of their wedding experience. I though that was an honor, to be apart of someone's big day. A typical day was pretty laid back and enjoying hearing about people's love stories. My co-workers were very cooperative and was such – more... a joy to be around. As for management, it wasn't easy working with my store manager, she/he was very obnoxious and not supportive of the team she had working for her. Favorited several employees and didn't appreciate the other's although she was the hiring manager. Otherwise everyday was a joy working there. – less

David's Bridal Stock Receiver
Stock Reciever and Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Goodlettsville, TNDecember 16, 2014
Pros: customer friendly, clean environment, good co-workers.
Cons: demanding retail hours.
Fast pace, demanding. Part-time position faced more work to do than the hours given to get it done. Worked with direct supervisor that was very knowledgeable and a good trainer.

The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing a bride find her Wedding Dress and watching the celebration of family and friends as they appreciate the specialness of that moment.

A fairly decent place to go to work at every day
Manager (Former Employee), CorporateDecember 16, 2014
David's Bridal was a rewarding and pleasant place to work, it's fun knowing that the end-game is providing a product and experience that a woman has dreamed about. The culture is a little quirky. The whole management team changed when the company was bought a couple years ago, and things became a different kind of quirky. Morale changed from day to – more... day and no decisions seem sure. But for the most part, the people who have been there a while made the place a great place to work. – less

CSR/Receiver (Current Employee), Littleton, CODecember 14, 2014
Pros: flexible hours, understanding store managers
Cons: micromanagement, not enough motivation
If you love weddings and love helping brides, bridesmaids, mothers, etc, you will enjoy working there. The company has some pros and cons. There is a huge amount of pressure to make plan, make plan, make plan and unfortunately there is the tendency to micromanage down to the most minute detail.
The pros are you do get a lot of satisfaction making someone – more... so happy for the happiest day of your life. Being a people person and wanting to have fun and please is a must for this job. – less

Not a stable job but a great experience
Receiver/Customer Service Specialist (Former Employee), Brooklyn, NYDecember 9, 2014
Pros: mkaing someone else happy.
Cons: not great pay or benefits
I enjoyed making brides' day. Some would cry when they found the dress of their dreams and thank you so much for your assistance. On the other hand it can be difficult to satisfy a bride and/or her bridesmaids because of finances and body types. The dresses are heavy but not SO heavy where you will hurt yourself. I got along with the majority of my – more... co-workers and we worked as a team. – less

I will NEVER refer Davids Bridal to anyone looking for work.
Bridal consultant (Former Employee), Feasterville-Trevose, PANovember 19, 2014
Pros: potlucks, discounts
Cons: short breaks, small lockers, not enough time to get done one project due to always being given multiple at once.
Paperwork; phone calls; straighten racks; clean; help dress bridal party/mother of the bride and find the bride to be the dress of her dreams. I learned how rude and two faced people can be in the work place as well as how much lifting was required at a bridal shop. The manager at the time was VERY ignorant and NEVER said anything nice about several – more... of the Brides that came in, especially the heavier brides. Most of the co workers were ignorant and very money hungry. The hardest part was finding the bride the dress that she always imagined as well as dealing with the constant stress of having more than one bride at a time. The most enjoyable part was finding the Bride her dress and making her visions come together. It always made me feel amazing when there was happy tears shed. – less

Being able to make someone happy is a great feeling and building relationships with people is very important. Learning about the industry and the product is very rewarding.Being able to perfect customer service is hard but doing it in a faced paced environment is the best way. Lots of learned skills but not the right fit for me.

loved the job but not the company
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Madison, WiNovember 17, 2014
Pros: n/a
Cons: work/life balance does not exists.
This is a company that gives no regard to it's employee's personal life. The expectations for management is beyond stressful and excessive. I have worked retail management for many years and have never encountered a company that treats their management staff like this company. I loved the job, but the not the company, and I refuse to work for someone – more... who shows no respect to it's employees. – less
