General Labour (Former Employee), Edmonton, ABDecember 13, 2012
Pros: free accomodation/ hotel / meals
Cons: 12 hours per day
The Davey Tree Expert Company provides residential and commercial tree and landscape service throughout North America.

Davey tree has been a good reputable company i ever work for. they take care of their employees and have excellent equipments to complete the job. besides that, my co-workers were so nice and sociable at work. the hardest part of the – more... job is when its snow too much and gets really cold outside because the chemicals freezes and we can't be able to do the job. – less

The best part of the job was getting to use the chainsaw, I liked the hours and the overtime agreement of the condensed work week.

Surveyor (Former Employee), Kent, OHJanuary 7, 2014
Pros: working in differnt location daily.
Cons: working in woodlots
My day at work stated out at 7 am we would have a staging area where all team member would meet up to discuss a work plan for the day. Each team would be giving a map with an area highlighted, that would be the area each team is responsible for. My team consisted of three people sometime we would be given four depend on the situation. Once we get to – more... our location our team would discuss the best possible way to start we would consider swampy area, area high in thorns, or area with lot of fallen trees. Once each team member put in their input we would decide and head straight to work ensuring we have a productive date. – less

Tree Trimmer (Former Employee), ColoradoDecember 17, 2013
Pros: 4 day work week
Cons: poor compensation for the work that was done
With Davey I enjoyed the work and the people that I worked with. The company seemed to take advantage of its employees and I felt that they misled people.

Great place for the money-motivated. Lots of overtime.
Licensed in 3A, 3B, 6. (Former Employee), Auburn Hills, MIOctober 15, 2013
Plenty of work. No shortage of hours. The employees are clique-ish, quick to point fingers to deflect blame, and management apathetic, at best. I made good money working there, but felt I had to tread lightly where ever I went for fear that someone would misinterpret something said and run to the manager with "reports." Not conducive for those looking – more... for any peace of mind in their workplace. – less

worst place I worked
technician (Former Employee), wheelingAugust 13, 2013
Cons: worst management
This place is a joke starting with management. Who lets a parts guy with no experience turning wrenches or any mechanical aptitude, run a fleet service. They make you feel like you're being segregated, unless you want to subdue to their demands. Expect a lot of responsibilities for no pay. They are always in need of mechanics, nobody lasts more than – more... a year. – less

Foreman (Former Employee), Dallas txAugust 11, 2013
Cons: everything
salesman and office help think they can tell everyone to work 12 to 14 hrs and day when they go home at 3:00.
No Equipment at all. Sometime no chippers and saws either.
A GREAT WAY TO TREAT CREWS.
The salesman suck so bad none of the jobs come out.
20 years of nothing to show for it.
