As the Chef / Manager you would be responsible for maintaining Dana’s high quality and service standards by effectively managing the food service operations including catering and vending in a high volume account located in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will plan and oversee the preparation of all meals, as well as perform administrative, financial and people management responsibilities in accordance with the established operating plan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing a high quality team by effectively recruiting, training, coaching performance and motivating employees in an effort to ensure high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction
Creating, planning and costing menus/recipes for cafeteria and catering in accordance with Dana’s Healthwise Choices Program
Achieving/exceeding established financial & budgetary goals and ensuring integrity of the cash flow process
Maintaining strong business relationships with all stakeholders including staff, client, associates and suppliers
Ensuring inventory is adequately maintained; implementing cost saving measures through effective portion controls and food rotation
Achieving the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in all work areas
Ensuring all FoodSafe and /or ServeSafe standards are followed by all employees
The hours of work for this opportunity are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will posses:
A professional culinary diploma (Red Seal Chef Status) plus 3 years of recent related experience in a high volume food service/cafeteria, catering environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
ServeSafe and FoodSafe certificates
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
The ability to motivate employees by example and to foster an environment of exceptional hospitality and professionalism with every task and interaction
The ability to effectively resolve issues through superior analytical skills with a strong focus and commitment to quality
Computer proficiency including POS equipment
The ability to build effective business relationships
The ability to work in an efficient manner while managing multiple tasks and priorities
