Quality Assurance/ Food Safety Manager
A leading processor and distributor of fresh quality cheese products in the GTA requires a Quality Assurance Manager for its facility located in the Newmarket area.
Duties and Responisibilities Responsibilities:
Manage the Quality Assurance team (HACCP Coordinator, Quality Assurance Technician, and Quality Control Technician)
Maintain the Quality Management System, with an emphasis on continuous improvement
Establish and manage the Sanitation Program
Monitor the effectiveness of the sanitation program and identify opportunities for improvement
Ensure the sanitation program is executed as per master cleaning schedule
Develop, maintain and deliver training to production employees on HACCP, GMP and SQF to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Ensure compliance with relevant government laws regulations, such as the CFIA, the Food and Drug Act and Regulations, and the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act and Regulations
Direct and administer the in-house laboratory including; budget and testing program
Liaise with the Management Team: CEO, Sales, HACCP /SQF Coordinator, Director of Quality Assurance and Supply Chain / Purchasing, Logisitics
Knowledge of statistical analysis
Post Secondary Education in Food Science, Microbiology or a related discipline
Several years experience in a Quality Assurance Management role in a food processing facility.
Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, CFIA regulations, Food and Drug regulations, Consumer Packaging Act and regulations and the Ontario Health and Safety Act
Familiar with the requirements of Global Food Safety Initiatives
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite) and Genesis software
