Provide security and protection assistance to mill site and property.
Provided in-house safety training to mill team members and external contractors.
Provide medical response and treatment to injured team members.
Support and lead Emergency Response Teams.
Provide guidance to ensure that all aspects of Provincial OH & S Regulations are followed.
Conduct ongoing field safety audits ensuring compliance.
Participate in onsite fire-fighting support, including fire suppression systems and alarms, rescue and etc.
People/Personality – A strong team player, flexible, good communication skills; in addition, the ability to train, facilitate, and lead small work teams will be required. As a SLC Technician, shift work and having the flexibility to work with others or alone will be expected.
Technical – Grade 12 education and minimum Advanced First Aid or Registered Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) are required. Loss control management, rescue, industrial hygiene formal training and experience in an industrial setting, safety and fire fighting would be
Administrative – Use of loss control management and report writing ; Word processing, spreadsheet and database computer skills will be used. Proficiency in MS office an asset.
