Professional company overall but with terrible management and culture
Multi Channel Account Executive (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 30 April 2017
During my 1 year stay at DHL Express Canada(Mississauga sales office) I mainly had a negative experience. Although if you work hard and deliver results you can get promoted fast, politics rules the work culture here. If the management does not like you you will have a hard time fitting in and advancing within the company. A lot of employees here decide to suck up to supervisors and the manager(who is a complete weirdo and just a terrible manager). Decent job for a first time job as the salary to start is around $45000-$50000/year with commission but do NOT stay here for too long unless you expect a lifetime of trying to be on your manager's/supervisor's/collegue's good side to advance in the company.
Decent salary and benefits
Terrible work environment and manager, politics rule
Mail Sorter (Former Employee) – Mount Hope, ON – 25 April 2017
Unsteady hours Horrible management, no respect unless you are a teacher's pet " Unionized is good and bad Good pay but not good hours Ok benefits The occasional free breakfast No Christmas parties Usually long hours because of ancient technology or plane delays Long hours because of lack of proper shifts
Pay is pretty good but only if you work more than 4 jours
Long exhausting hours because they don't have proper shifts . Horrible management
Operations Administrator (Former Employee) – Caledon, ON – 4 April 2017
I go on about the ethics of this company at that specific location of course. But, to be honest it would not affect the way that my time there came to an end due to the telephone game and nay-Sayers. I left their with much experience and a good grasp on how corporate companies run on a fast-paced mode.
Great place to work with descent benefits in an unionized environment.
Certified International Specialist (Current Employee) – Brampton, ON – 12 March 2017
Management needs to focus on real solutions instead of band aid solutions. Lots of meetings which are unproductive and does not solve issues. Good job options if you want to move up as hiring is done within the company.
Unionized enviorment, free lunches during festive holidays
As usual middle managment are disconnected with real issues.
Relief Courier (Former Employee) – Hamilton, ON – 27 February 2017
DHL is a great place for anyone just looking to make a decent living. They offer all kinds of work in their warehouse or on the road, you get to meet a lot of people, get to know your customers, hear stories from other employees new and old, and the environment is friendly. It takes a bit of learning at first, like any job, and getting to know city maps comes in very handy. The only real downside is the long hours on the road--some days go up to 12 hours--or the split shifts in their warehouse, as they only need staff in the mornings and evenings, but they pay very well as long as you're up for it. A perfect entry-level job.
Great pay, great atmosphere
Long days on the road or split shifts in the warehouse
A Job that is always evolving in service giving and Customer satisfaction
Owner operator Van Drivers (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 25 February 2017
A place of work that gives a lot of training in its field and management is very serious about Employee Opinion Survey. Employee satisfaction at work place is of paramount importance. Though work requires physical strength and long working hours, it is at the end satisfactory to work with this Company
Mail Sorter (Former Employee) – John C Munro International Airport – 13 January 2017
Excellent work for compensation. I process and verify international mail from all over eastern and central Canada leaving to international destinations. Ensure paperwork, verification of tracking numbers, and sort to destination mail bags.
MHE fork and clamp driver operator , JHSC member (Former Employee) – Brampton, ON – 9 January 2017
its been great working for DHL I had been elected from senior staff and management to become a Safety Rep for 3 consecutive years . learned a lot . the benefits and pay was acceptional how fast your wage increases. unfortunately the contract ended with a third party company who chose to go overseas.
