Manufacturing / Quality Control Technician
Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:
Cutting Solutions Inc. is currently looking for a Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical Engineering Technology program graduate to provide technical support and services in the development of production methods, facilities and systems; and the planning, estimating, measuring and scheduling of work. The successful candidate will benefit from the opportunity to work with industry leading professionals in a collaborative environment on exciting and challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s production drawings using prescribed methods, industry standards, codes and regulation
  • Work closely with engineering, supply chain, quality control and the production team; advise on technical problems and troubleshooting
  • Follow any Quality Assurance (QA) policies and procedures outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS); perform in-process inspections
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all process performed in the area, create all required documentation of inspections, report any NCR issues and obtain written dispositions on deviations
  • Prioritize and maintain effective workflow and communication by handling a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Create travel sheets and conduct daily monitoring, calibration and routine maintenance of equipment used in the area
  • Participate in the continuous improvement projects and compliance audits carried out in areas of manufacturing
  • Additional authority and accountability as related to key responsibilities will be delegated upon demonstrated competency

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents, adhere to operational and record keeping guidelines
  • Lead by example and help to promote the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Attend required training and focus on continued professional growth and development
  • From time to time overtime maybe required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with ABSA and ASME codes would be a definitive asset
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive
  • High proficiency in drafting with good knowledge of production workflow
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2 -3 years relevant experience in metal manufacturing environment
  • High proficiency in SolidWorks, MasterCam and other design software
  • Graduate of an accredited Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical Engineering Technology program
  • Experience with ERP software would be an asset
  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2008
