I don't really know a lot about this kind of company because they were the first of their type I had worked for, but it was nice. I worked in the warehouse at Lenovo, but for CTG. My supervisors for both companies were nice and helpful, and the whole work environment was great.

It is a little hard to much of anything as CTG is like many other staffing companies, what it is.
Over my 18 years of working as a contract technical writer I have worked with many staffing companies. I can not say that working for them was any better or any worse then any staffing company I have worked for.
I would say that if you new to this type – more... of work, CTG is a good company to work for and that you should take advantage of any educational opportunities they offer.
Typical work day was like any other. Showed up each day, did normal daily work within the confines of what ever schedule the client set. I was a little spoiled at my last assignment getting to work four 10 hour days a week.
The hardest part of my job is something that all technical writers can attest to. Getting the subject matter experts to understand that just because they wrote something themselves, it can not always be inserted or reused as they wrote it. Especially when they may have been an English major. – less

Excellent company to contract your services to other large major companies. Very professional and organized

Be prepared. CTG will follow hiring company's words. They won't cover your back. With this economy, they can fire a person on spot even with a fault accusation.

CTG might be OK if you live someplace where tehy have multiple clients, but when IBM is their only client, they turn into the same level of SOBs that IBM is

A typical day was answering phones, directing calls or taking messages, processing employee paperwork, inspecting employee files for ISO compliance, and any other duties as assigned. CTG really cares about their employees. The benefits package was above the industry standard and training and advancement is encouraged. Training is company paid and available at the Buffalo, NY offices. The pay was within the going market and executive support was appearant. I highly recommend this organization for perspective employment.

The team worked to find long term placement. Contract work allows you the opportunity to try out companies. The company works with your placement companies for permanent placement.

One of the best assignments. Not only learning new skills, but the opportunity is working towards a managers role. This opportunity came to fruition when I was selected into the Resource management role.

Administrative Assistant a typical day would be to prioritize and create task. Handle incoming emails and checking for accuracy.

I learned how to communicate at all various levels. I also learned how to multi task with more ease. I also learned that I am a team leader.

• Responsible for troubleshooting, deployment, and re-imaging over 1500 PC's, laptops, and other associated IT based hardware.
• Duties also include; customer contact and presence for custom configurations.
• Mechanical repair of network based commercial printers such as Lexmark C750/C762
• Manipulation and maintenance of Active Directory to setup and – more... control users, computers, groups, containers, and policies.
• Creation of tools and processes for streamlining the deployment process.
• Worked with other teams to resolve deployment issues with regards to specialized hard-ware need for those groups. – less
