Good people to work for
Contract Computer Repair Technician (Former Employee), Whitsett, NC – February 15, 2013
Pros: nice people to work for in general.
Cons: no new job after old one ended
I don't really know a lot about this kind of company because they were the first of their type I had worked for, but it was nice. I worked in the warehouse at Lenovo, but for CTG. My supervisors for both companies were nice and helpful, and the whole work environment was great.

It is a staffing company
Technical Writer (Former Employee), Raleigh, NC – February 6, 2013
Pros: educational offerings, not a lot of oversight
Cons: payrate a little on low side
It is a little hard to much of anything as CTG is like many other staffing companies, what it is.
Over my 18 years of working as a contract technical writer I have worked with many staffing companies. I can not say that working for them was any better or any worse then any staffing company I have worked for.
I would say that if you new to this type – more... of work, CTG is a good company to work for and that you should take advantage of any educational opportunities they offer.
Typical work day was like any other. Showed up each day, did normal daily work within the confines of what ever schedule the client set. I was a little spoiled at my last assignment getting to work four 10 hour days a week.
The hardest part of my job is something that all technical writers can attest to. Getting the subject matter experts to understand that just because they wrote something themselves, it can not always be inserted or reused as they wrote it. Especially when they may have been an English major. – less

CTG won't cover your back
Analyst (Former Employee), Corning NY – October 23, 2012
Be prepared. CTG will follow hiring company's words. They won't cover your back. With this economy, they can fire a person on spot even with a fault accusation.

System Administrator (Former Employee), Poughkeepsie, NY – September 11, 2012
CTG might be OK if you live someplace where tehy have multiple clients, but when IBM is their only client, they turn into the same level of SOBs that IBM is

Enjoyable place to work
Resource Administrator/Receptionist (Former Employee), San Jose, CA – September 6, 2012
Pros: in the heart of downtown, many amenities close by
Cons: traffic
A typical day was answering phones, directing calls or taking messages, processing employee paperwork, inspecting employee files for ISO compliance, and any other duties as assigned. I loved the convenience of the downtown location. I thoroughly enjoyed my coworkers and am still in touch with one. I miss the daily interaction with coworkers and the – more... contact with the public. – less
