good part-time opportunities
Event Demonstrator (Former Employee), Plano, TX – January 30, 2013
Pros: provisions are made for demonstrator to complete events
Cons: limited hours
demonstrative food products. learned about product companies. Management is very helpful. Co-workers are fun loving and spirited. Hardest part of the job is leaving at the end of the day - time goes too fast. interacting with the public is part and parcel of the enjoyment.

Company has poor Management
Event Specialist (Current Employee), Atlanta, Georgia – January 26, 2013
Pros: work independently, meet new people
Cons: poor management and superiors, no hours or work, low pay for work that you do, managment and superiors have too much power
This company has the worst management ever ! Its ok if you just want to plead with your superiors for work hours and heaven forbid if you need time off they will hold it against you and you will not work for a long time. :)

The corporation and the supervisors do "NOT" care about there workers! They drain ever morsel of life out of a person! P.S. don't ever become ill "AND" have a medical note, stating that works days have to be a certain amount! The supervisor will do his best to get you off the books! Not too mention...he is a "GREAT" liar!

Ive worked for this company twice, enjoy it!!
Dedicated Retail Merchandiser (Current Employee), Modesto, CA – January 26, 2013
Pros: make your own hours, dont have to work with your boss
Cons: lots of driving, hours can change with no notice
I worked for Crossmark several years ago in a team setting. Hated it. Manager didn't do his job and half the employees didn't either. When things weren't completed boss blamed the few people who actually worked. Company lost contract so we were let go. We did get an 8 month notice. I now work as a dedicated merchandiser. Work by myself and see my boss – more... once or twice a YEAR!. POP is shipped directly to my house. Depending on which branch of Crossmark out work for, your reimbursed for Mileage and drive time. Unfortunately just recently got hours cut in half with no notice. That is a down side. – less

Great when you have physical work to do
Retail Merchandiser (Former Employee), Nation Wide – January 25, 2013
Did pog resets, was a mentor, did audits, and product cut ins and demos.
Typical Retail work.
Worked mostly own my own unless it was a big reset.
The hardest part is the amount of travel required-don't matter where you live you have to drive 20-40 miles out to work.

I learned about different nutritional information about food samples, and learned a lot about how give samples help the sale of the product. The supervisor and leaders were all ways willing to help out and make sure you reached your goal.

Just another number
Project Administrator (Former Employee), Plano, TX – January 23, 2013
Pros: experience
Cons: low pay, low appreciation, low morale overall, and....expect to be dissapointed.
If you want to feel like a number and get paid less than other companies pay for the same position while being managed by the "good old boys", then apply at CROSSSMARK. You will be just another number and completely expendable.

One of the first things you get to learn about Crossmark is they violate the DOL wage and hour rules on many things. So, learn how to make complaints in writing to the DOL when associated with Crossmark. In most cases Crossmark's remote control doesn't work and you never get paid for all time worked. There are much better jobs and definitely much better companies than Crossmark. Most of the comments on here positive of Crossmark are just their marketing people, and real posters know Crossmark is real bad news. imho

Event Specialist
Event Specialist (Former Employee), Plano, TX – January 21, 2013
Pros: sampling new products, be your own boss
Cons: no supervisor around if help or questions
I loved this job.. What I didn't like was that I never met my supervisor. Everything was done on line or on the phone. The company would schedule events to be done in particular stores, I would then go to the store execute the event then log my work on line. My supervisor scheduled me events the the day of the event she took me off the schedule, without – more... notice or e-mail. They then terminated me implying that I didn't execute my events scheduled. With this position you cannot execute an event without being on a schedule. Big disappointment.. – less

Overworked , Misinformed
Samsung Merchandiser (Current Employee), Orange County/Los Angeles – January 13, 2013
Pros: no pros
Cons: no support, too much driving, low pay
I work in the Orange County /Los Angeles Market currently as a Samsung Merchandiser. This has to be one of the worse companies I have worked for . Inadequate training , promises of Full Time worked after "Wave 1 " initiated . Poor communication with direct Manager and very poor support from corporate. Hardest part of the job is trying to get a response – more... back from my manager. – less

Best Company I've Ever Worked For
Retail Representative (Current Employee), Nationwide – January 9, 2013
Pros: good hours, good management, easy work, lots of travel, free hotels when you travel
Cons: food reimbursement is a bit clunky but nothing serious.
I have worked for a few retail companies as a part time employee and I hated it. I joined Crossmark last year and ever since I'd never want to do any other job. I love to travel and the travel is paid so thats a huge plus. They do have it where you pay gas up front but reimbursement always comes on time! I've never had all the problems people have said – more... about not being reimbursed for things or travel going unpaid.

They pay for all the hotel stays up front, but you pay for meals and gas out of pocket and get reimbursed. The credit card they give is in case you have to use it on a project that they have issued you, its not for you to spend on food or gas.

I love my job, even though at times the travel distance can be a bit daunting but it's a traveling job so you get used to it. Management is understanding and caring. If you help them they will help you back. If you dont want to get out of bed and go to work on "your day off" then good luck keeping a job with decent hours anywhere!

The only downside if any is reimbursement for food is a bit clunky in design but nothing overly bad. They pay you back for mileage, drive time (anything over an hour), and mileage (with 40 miles cut off the way up and back, makes sense usual commute to work for most people is about 40 miles anyway).

Hours are flexible, but there are some weeks where the work is light due to client demand for the company's services but if you want to have work just show some initiative and honestly want to work. If you let your boss know you are willing to work and do the job right you will become the "go to" employee and will be secure hour wise.

This is honestly the only company I have EVER worked for that rewards hard work and gives you hours based on your performance and willingness to work. If you arent getting hours just talk to your supervisor. You're just a number on the spreadsheet with any company unless you let the boss know "I WANT TO WORK!"

Overall great company, pay is good, reimbursement is fine, and I highly recommend it. – less
