Overall CSFB was and remains one of the best companies I have worked for.
Executive Assistant (Former Employee), New York, NY – April 20, 2013
Pros: gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner, state of the art gym and spa, car service. the benefits, heath and dental plan, 401k, vacation and sick days even maternity leave.
Cons: having to say goodbye!
Working for CSFB was a dream job. I would be the first into the office and the last to leave. The company took great care its' employees, providing us with a state of the art gym, gourmet cafeteria which provided heathy choices and car service for those like me who worked late. The overall environment although extremely professional and fast paced was – more... very comfortable. Everyone of the 100+ staff members on my floor got along very well and assisted one another whenever possible. I learned a lot working there. I was very sad as were many of my co-workers to see our department slowly downsized to extinction after we successfully updated the Banks' systems for Y2K. My hope is to one day find a similar experience with a company. One where I can contibute to its' growth and success. – less

World class financial professionals
Risk Analyst (Current Employee), New York, NY – April 16, 2013
Pros: great employees
Cons: industry restructuring
My experience with Credit Suisse in the Credit Analytics Department was very positive. The employees were world class financial professionals and life was actually enjoyable. The one downside to the company is a massive cost-cutting measure that will invariable lead to future job insecurity and more employment cutbacks.

Stiffling, depressing, horrible, oppressive place to work
Assistant Vice President (Former Employee), Morrisville, NC – April 15, 2013
Pros: you could work from home during bad weather
Cons: no breaks, you work during your lunch hour
The quality of life was horrible. I worked 6 days a week, every holiday and was on call 24/7. It was clear Mgmnt could care less about their employees.

Productive and fun workplace
Business analyst (Current Employee), Zurich – March 28, 2013
Pros: test driven development
Cons: ensuring that the complexity of the task in hand could be fully understood by all.
Credit Suisse provided me with an opportunity to learn many things. Of all the experiences I gained, I am most grateful to have the opportunity to shape, lead and implement their test-driven development methodology.

Stressful environment with no compensation
Assistant Vice President (Current Employee), Raleigh, NC – March 25, 2013
Like most banks, Credit Suisse was hit hard during the financial crisis and has attempted to weather the storm without completely recovering. Every year, compensation decreases along with headcount reductions, causing employees to do the work of multiple people. Employees are expected to work long hours, but any overtime worked factors into the calculation – more... of year-end bonuses as "total compensation" (the result being that more overtime means less bonus). Management has no idea what they're doing and they continue to stifle their employees with no advancement, increasing workload and no compensation. It's just a matter of time before this IB bites the dust. – less

Productive Workplace
Equity Research Associate (Current Employee), Northeast – March 14, 2013
Research at Credit Suisse offers great experience, but long hours. there are mostly great people there. Pay is not that great relative to the hours so almost everyone does it for the name and experience. hard work at the bulge can easily be leveraged into more senior and better roles both in and outside the firm.

Great culture
AML Compliance Officer (Current Employee), New York, NY – March 12, 2013
Pros: great facilities
Cons: no free coffee
- most days are very busy filled with meetings, but there is enough downtime to get work done
- I learned a lot about AML, Sanctions and Anti-Corruption, how to draft policies fand training for a global bank, and how to work as part of a global team
- the management is very approachable, fair and provides thoughtful constructive feedback. All these – more... characteristics are conducive to a great learning environment.
- the co-workers are supportive and know when and how to work as part of a team
- the most difficult is working as part of a global team, and having to coordinate meetings with locations world-wide
- the most enjoyable part so far was working with the visuals vendor on the production of the e-learning module that went out to every single employee world-wide and seeing the finished product. – less
