ROLE: Process Engineering Leader
REQUIRED: Full-time
LOCATION: Vancouver Business Unit

Opportunity:

Leading a team of engineering professionals in a functional and a customer focused team environment, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in process and product engineering, electronics manufacturing processes, and project management. Experience in business systems, statistical analysis like Six Sigma Methodology is also required. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in coaching, team building and effective decision making.

This person will be a member of the company-wide Process Engineering Leadership team, and will assist in developing strategic initiatives and roadmaps.

The key areas of responsibility include:

  • Process Engineering
  • Equipment specifications and Process Validation
  • New Product Introductions
  • Efficiency improvement involving time study, layout and ergonomics
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Value Engineering

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership and development of:

 Process Engineering
 Process Maintenance

  • Resource planning for the Business Unit Process Engineering team
  • Develop, implement, and oversee Process Engineering processes and optimal approaches
  • Identify training needs and develop/execute where appropriate
  • Collaborate with other Functional teams to drive best practices within the Business Unit
  • Work with company-wide Process Engineering Leadership Team to develop common practices
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Health & Safety

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred)
  • Knowledge on Surface Mount (SMT), Through Hole (TH) technologies and auxiliary processes like conformal coating, cleaning, encapsulation, and mechanical assembly.
  • Project management experience (5+ yrs.)
  • Electronics manufacturing experience (3+ yrs.)
  • Leadership experience (3+ yrs.)
  • Working knowledge and experience with ERP and/or PLM systems
  • Knowledge of "Lean Manufacturing "and experience with rapid change models such as Kaizen
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience in customer relations
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives on autonomy and the challenges of continuous improvement.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt an advantage
  • Updated knowledge and experience on Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
