ROLE: Machine Operator - Wavesolder/In-line Cleaner
REQUIRED: Full Time (3:30 pm - 12:00 am)
Please note: The machine operated in this position is called a Select Wave Solder Machine. The role of a Machine Operator using this machine would be to upload the necessary program, prepare the reel to the size of the boards, pick and place the electronic components on the printed circuit board, place the parts into the machine, and check the solder result. At the end of the shift, the Machine Operator must clean the pot from build up during the process.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Set up, operate and maintain wave soldering equipment as per work instructions and maintenance schedule
Control all wave soldering material (flux, solder bars etc) as per work instructions to ensure proper application of flux and solder material.
Perform cursory inspection on products as per quality standards to ensure workmanship standards are met
Provide assistance in FAI process
Monitor and troubleshoot wave soldering process as required
Assist in coordination of post wave inspection and product cleaning
Assist in other manufacturing processes as needed
Communicate and cooperate with post wave inspector on quality issues
Communicate with Process Engineering on new project recipe set up and operation
Maintain overall cleanliness of workstation
Operation and/or setup of In-line Cleaner Machine, Stencil Cleaner Machine, Ionograph Machine
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Previous experience in wave soldering is preferred
Knowledge of electronic components and manufacturing process is a definite asset
Must be organized and able to pay attention to detail
Able to lift at least 50 lbs
Able to work with chemicals using proper personal protective equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude with good troubleshooting skills
Good communication skills
Must be able to work independently or in a team environment
