 Ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to.
 Implements and maintains a current department manual clearly stating department specific policies, procedures and training requirements.
 Ensures staff and management are well informed.
 Makes informed, appropriate, timely and cost effective decisions.
 Effectively participates in resort meetings.
 Strives to provide quality service and/or product in an efficient and cost effective manner.
 Develops and implements Customer Service policies for guests.
 Maintains an effective balance between labour costs and quality service. Monitors and adjusts staffing levels during each shift according to business demands.
 Immediately addresses oral customer complaints. Follows up on written customer complaints in an effective and timely manner. Ensures the management is aware of the outcome.
 Understands and complies with all relevant legislation.
 Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board legislation.
 Maintains a clean, tidy and organized department/work area.
 Maintains all department facilities. Proposes improvements to continually increase level of service, guest convenience or to provide amenities to increase revenue.
 Effectively organizes self, subordinates and department.
 Establishes and maintains effective, efficient systems.
 Provides effective department forecasting and responds appropriately to changing business demands.
 Responsible to develop and maintain a departmental budget ensuring financial goals are met.
 Ensures that adequate records are kept in order to offer statistical analysis of profitability.
 Effectively handles administrative functions in timely manner.
 Due to the fluctuating demands of the job, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.


 Manages employees in accordance with the principle of progressive discipline and the Collective Agreement.
 Manages the department staff including hiring, training, coaching, motivation and discipline.
 Holds regular productive department meetings.
 Provides objective, fair and consistent coaching/feedback to staff regarding performance.
 Provides all department employees with an annual and/or seasonal written performance review.
 Promptly resolves conflicts.
 Sets and communicates clear objectives and standards.
 Ensures staff have the information, training and skills necessary to provide excellent job performance.
 Actively supports and rewards teamwork and initiative.
 Supports staff, management and the company.
 Communicates in a professional manner maintaining good relationships, listens and responds appropriately.


 Sources product and pricing for current and future menus.
 Purchasing of all food items.
 Receives deliveries, ensuring quality and proper rotation.
 Monthly inventory of all food items.
 Ensures food costs are in line with budget.
 Creates new menu’s with costing.
 Creates theme events.
 Meets with guests and designs menus for special functions.
 Increases presentation and quality of food.
 Ensures laundry is properly stocked.
 Ensures hygiene standards are followed at all times.
