DSR Pensacola tread careful
Direct Sales Representative (Current Employee), Pensacola, FLFebruary 3, 2014
Pros: flexible schedule
Cons: lack of support, poor management, other sales people very very dishonest and shady, they care nothing about you just what you produce
I worked as a Dsr for a bit in the Pensacola area. The managers pretty much let you do what you want as long as your making numbers. Thats a bad thing because everyone there is very shady putting in orders and not following directions. They have several agents that have been there for years that has that territory locked down. Most of the people are – more... helpful but everyone was shady. You have guys stealing cable and hooking people up for free to get deals done. The DSR position could be good if they had better upper management controlling the area. But like I said as long as your producing they don't care about what your doing. I'm surprised a company of this size does business like this. The prices are outraeous because there is no competition in the area. This company cares about the bottom line nothing else. They also hire outside DSR contractors that work the same area as you making you compete for business. They out source calls to other countries to save money on the bottom line...corporate America has ruined this country! – less

Great Team with Awesome Supervisors but EXCESSIVE METRICS
Customer Retention Representative (Former Employee), Warwick, RIFebruary 3, 2014
Pros: lots of free swag and cool events to raise morale.
Cons: excessive metrics and unrealistic goals
The team is beyond awesome. Managers/Supervisors will go out of their way to build the right team chemistry and assist in meeting goals. HOWEVER, the sheer amount of metrics and goals are beyond stressful. Employees are measured from how long they go to the bathroom to how long a customer is on hold even if it is to their benefit. Metrics are measure – more... to the hundredth decimal and displayed throughout the company in realtime showing success and failures. – less

A good place to work
Retention Supervisor (Current Employee), Wichita, KSJanuary 21, 2014
Pros: great benefits and leadership
Cons: hours of operation and lack of compensation in sales
Cox is a good employer. They have a very employee-centric culture with a management team that is focused on making sure they do what is right for their reps. Although it may take a while to get things done due to a lack of urgency from the corporate office, local leadership work well with what they have and continue to keep things going as smoothly – more... as possible. I have definitely learned how a good organization should operate through my time at Cox and appreciate all the connections I've made there. – less

Decent pay but not worth the headaches
Retention Agent (Former Employee), Metairie, LAJanuary 15, 2014
Pros: pay, benefits, courtesy services
Cons: everything else
The pay and benefits are about the only thing worth working for here. From management on down everyone seems completely lost. Departments fighting against each other at the expense of the customer. Rampant favoritism, supervisors that have zero confidence to lead, and managers that could care less about the employees.

System Operations System Specialist II Team Lead (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NVJanuary 13, 2014
Pros: excellent health benefits
Cons: 10 hour days
Fast-paced environment while learning everyday along with a great support staff and helpful co-workers. It was difficult to verify report accuracy while monitoring the network for any system failures. The most enjoyable part of my employment was learning new information regarding equipment and network monitoring tools.
