They make you focus on one thing today and tomorrow something totally different lack of communications also a lot of preference Lots of overtime but no family time

very typical marketing daily work, but fun as well because you always get a taste of technology when you play with medical devices.

I really enjoyed working for this company. Truly sorry to see the plant closure. I enjoyed all the people I worked with and still remain family with them. We would have what we call pigouts, where everyone would bring in food and all would gather to eat at lunch time.2nd. and 3rd. would do the same.
I have learned a great deal about the FDA and what – more... is expected.I have learned from my QA management is to talk about the problem and asked yourself what can or will happen, if it goes out the door to be sold.
My days can be as little as 8 hours up to 12 hours,5 days aweek, and Saturdays 4-8 hours. – less

Covidien is a great company overall, very dinamic and in constant change.

I have work for this company for almost 12 yrs now and have had the oportunity to develop my profesional skills.

The hardest part of this job is that there are limited resources which leads to long hours of work, which dificult balancing personal and prefesional life..

I worked for Covidien, but have decided to pursue a different career. I have returned to school as a full time student. However, I do appreciate the skills and experience that Covidien provided to me during my time as an employee.

It is required to type a bunch of stuff in here but not a whole lot to say. Place was too focused on 'Looking Good' to really spend time Being Good so no real surprise they announced closing.

Every day I Know what i need to do, only when my supervisor told me to work in something else is because they realy need to be done. I like to work with any kind of people, I'm freindly.
My last job when the first started to work i feel was hard but the most you do something i get more practice i i get more faster.

Typical day,
Taking calls from sales Rep and processing orders.

This company really favors folks with military experience. A lot of lateral mobility but not a lot of upward mobility.

Coworkers are eager to learn and work. The environment is friendly and stress free. Great place to learn and make friends.

Covidien provides procedures and requirements to protect their employees and their customers. They look out for our safety and the welfare of their employees. The hardest part of my job is production schedule changes. I love being able to priortize my work with little supervision.

I learned how to check for defective vaseline packs

we couldn't talk so not alot of getting to know co-workers

sitting for 12 hours not talking is a hard job

going home was very enjoyable

Overall an average company to work for. Compensation and Benefits were pretty good. Culture and Values were representative of the company which was celebrating 145 year anniversary (i.e. outdated and much more reactive than proactive). Job Security was little to none unfortunately and Advancement was difficult. Site Leadership and Management had gotten – more... better the last couple of years but overall can still stand to improve. Work/Life balance seemed okay for the most part. – less

Working as a team and making sure everyone is on the same page.

I am working temporary in that company. Thats the bad thing . But I learn many diferents things in every line that I work for.

This facility has no sense of direction, or if it does, it is communicated very poorly. Very much a "flavor of the day" type of place, meaning that one day you are being asked to drop everything you do and focus on something, and then the next day that topic is meaningless and you are asked to focus on something completely different. More is asked to – more... be done with less people and less spending. Very poor use of lean concepts. An attempt to create a lean culture is being made from the bottom up instead of the top down, which is how is should be. I'm thankful to have a job, but do not plan to make a career of this place. – less

Lot's of talk about innovation and process improvement but little action. Archaic systems with dozens of redundant management approvals stifle any real change. As mentioned in other reviews - too many chiefs, not enough indians. If your good with learning and following rigid complicated procedures, this place is for you.
