AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT

The County of Grande Prairie is currently accepting applications for outgoing, responsible persons to fill the following seasonal positions during the period May 1 to October 18, 2013 (end date is approximate, and may be extended weather permitting):

*Weed Inspectors
*Herbicide Applicators
*Mower Operators

Salary Range: $20.76 - $24.76 per hour

Qualifications: Applicants must enjoy working with the public, possess good computer knowledge, and have excellent communication and record keeping skills. Agricultural education and/or background is an asset. Knowledge of weed identification and control is essential. Previous experience operating tractors and mowers is also an asset.

*Herbicide Applicators: Pesticide Applicators License (Industrial and Agricultural) is an asset as well as the ability to maintain the equipment used (i.e., change oil).
*Weed Inspectors: Pesticide Applicators License is an asset.
*Mower Operator: Class 3 driver’s license is an asset.

Hours of work for each position may vary and some overtime/weekend work is required.
Please note that applicants must possess a current driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work as there is no bus service to County offices.
