Member Service (Current Employee), Toronto, ON – July 16, 2014
Very good employee benefits, such as vacation and salary. Colleagues overall exert very supportive and positive work relations, like a family. Depending on the warehouse, management can be inefficient. It takes a lot of time and ridiculously amount of work to work the way up in the company, as there are limited opening of positions due to limited amount – more... of new stores opening, and seniority takes precedence. – less
Tire Technician (Current Employee), Richmond Hill, ON – July 16, 2014
Long hours, organized, and routined, I learned how to write and process work orders, the management was fair, co-workers fair, hardest part of the job was the late nights, enjoyable part of the job, working with members

Pros: work in a great environment with great people
Cons: standing lots
My name is Charlie Lapointe I am 26 years old and I was born and raised in Ottawa,Ontario I love to work in a fast paced Environment and I love to make new friend's and I have done sales basicly my whole life I started selling candy bars since the age of 11 years old I have learned to use fluent english I am great on the phone and I – more... also learned how to talk to a client and convince him to buy the product I would be selling I get along with other people I hate working alone I am very outgoing and kind spirit I think the Hardest part of trying to sell anything if it's on the phone or it's going door to door sales is convincing the client to try and sell them something you need to learn how to speak to a client and don't take No the first time keep trying to get that client the most enjoyable part of sales is you meet different people and make a strong sense of the job. – less

Maintenance Staff (Former Employee), Saint John, NB – June 15, 2014
Costco was a great place to work, they were helpful with working around my schedule, giving me reasonable hours and job security was good. I decided to leave so I could start looking for work in the Electrical field.
Vault Clerk (Current Employee), Edmonton, AB – June 10, 2014
Pros: great management, friendly environment, good wages/benefits
Cons: shift work, customer service
The managers are friendly and helpful, the employees are like a family, the wages and benefits are great, and on occasion they give us free food to reward a job well done. The only downsides are that you're working in customer service - so dealing with dumb people is a regular thing - and doing shift work, which makes maintaining a social life somewhat – more... difficult. – less
Front End Clerk, Packing (Former Employee), Richmond Hill , Ontario – June 3, 2014
Customer service and item return to shelves. Position provided lots of interaction with customers and co workers. Position was seasonal part time for the christmas holidays. Very busy environment and requires multi tasking to be able to service the customers.
Cashier (Current Employee), Calgary AB – June 3, 2014
Pros: free membership
Cons: bad hours, rules that restrict the efficiency of company
most of the employees and superiors are great to work with but some of the mangers are lacking common sense in providing a positive customer experience and more of following strict rules that the Costco wear house outlined. Hours that you ask for are never given they will example you ask for mornings hours they give you that for 3 days then put you – more... back into a graveyard shift and your schedule is all over the place sometimes you have different working hours and days off – less
Front End Assistant (Current Employee), Abbotsford,BC – May 27, 2014
A typical day at work is busy and involves a lot of customer interaction. It definitely teaches you how to work in a dynamic environment with ever changing customer needs. The management seems to be efficient coming in with great experience.
The hardest part is sometimes tiredness and boredom and the most enjoyable part is a friendly and productive – more... work environment. – less
