We are presently accepting applications for full time oil and gas camp security guards to work in various camps north of Edmonton.
*This is not a remote camp or fly-in position.

All meals and lodgings are provided to officers without charge while on shift. Ground shuttle to the camp from the EDMONTON office is available and travel time from Edmonton to the camp and from the camp back to Edmonton is paid.

VALID ALBERTA SSIA SECURITY LICENSE - (no exceptions)
No Criminal History
Perfectly Fluent ENGLISH communication - written and spoken (no exceptions)
Physically fit and able to perform all patrol and enforcement tasks
Clean cut and professional appearance - military/police standards
Previous Police, Corrections, Peace Officer, EMS, Fire or Military experience a strong asset
First Aid and CPR an asset
Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills required
PPCT and Handcuff Training an asset

GENERAL DUTIES:
Day Shift and Evening Shift foot patrols of the camp, buildings, dorms, facilities, parking lot and common areas with your partner to provide a visible uniformed presence.
Identify and resolve criminal acts, breaches of camp policies and safety hazards.
Respond to calls to service, complaints, disturbances and emergencies to provide professional support or enforcement as required.
Assist camp Managers as required
Traffic control and vehicle access control duties
Ensure a safe and peaceful environment through effective delivery of uniformed security services using a community policing model.
Assist guests with room access/lockouts
Render First Aid/CPR in emergency situations as required.
Work closely with the RCMP

ENVIRONMENT
Camps provide lodgings for professional oil and gas workers, labourers and supervisory staff.
Guards are not permitted to consume alcohol or use drugs.
The camps are generally a very friendly and peaceful environment, however; at times, Guards will be required to deal with and/or arrest aggressive and non-compliant residents, violent offenders or alcohol / drug intoxicated persons. Guards may be required to arrest persons who come onto camp property to commit criminal acts or assist with medical or other emergencies until Police or EMS can attend.

PAY OPTIONS
Guards may work 40 hours per week maximum on payroll with deductions, or may choose to stay at camp and work as many consecutive (12 hour, per day) shifts as they wish on contract without deductions. Payroll Guards may work 3 shifts on with 4 shifts off and are provided lodgings only while working.
Guards that work on contract are paid straight time at their hourly rate of pay and are responsible for their own taxes etc. On contract guards may work 7 - 12 hour shifts (84 hours) per week, ($1,428.00 per week) or approx. $6,300.00 per month/31 days at starting $17/hr cash - contract rate while living at the camp with meals and lodging provided free of charge.
($20/hour for experienced Canadian Police Officers).
