Our client located near London is currently recruiting for a Vice President, Finance & Operations to join the management team of their multi-company organization.

Reporting to the CEO the Vice President, Finance & Operations will contribute to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compilation of financial statements, preparation of monthly and year-end statements, tax returns and government remittances, in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and government guidelines
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans; ensure corporate adherence to annual budgets
  • Supervise an accounting team of four (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general accounting)
  • Develop and implement appropriate financial and management information systems, reports, internal controls and analysis
  • Establish financial policies, procedures and controls to achieve business objectives
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance through strong financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, control and risk management
  • Oversee management of IT support services including the planning and selecting of appropriate hardware and software solutions to meet the needs of the organization
  • Encourage and motivate the sales team to increase sales levels and broaden the customer base
  • Administer the sales budget, set target and goals, coordination with multiple departments is required, ensure all sales divisions are successfully maintaining profitable customer relationships
  • Provide product costing data and participate in setting the selling price of products
  • Support the Human Resources Manager in successfully planning, developing and implementing strategic HR policies and programs to support business requirements
  • Develop and administer appropriate policies and procedures to manage all aspects of the employment relationship including recruitment, hiring, training, attendance, performance, health and safety, training and development, career progression, and issue resolution
  • Ensure all HR programs and procedures are in accordance with applicable employment legislation, develop and implement a robust performance assessment process to drive performance towards desired outcomes
  • Develop and implement appropriate compensation guidelines to ensure compensation practices are externally competitive and internally equitable
  • Identify, source and deliver training and development programs to strengthen the skills and performance of the team
  • Oversee the Health and Safety practices of the company and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards and controls
  • Establish and manage all vendor / supplier relationships, negotiating contract terms and administering approved contracts

Qualifications:

  • CA, CMA, CGA with 10+ years experience in a senior financial management position
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
  • Experience in a multiple-company organizational structure
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience
  • Strong organizational skills, adaptable, flexible, decisive, takes initiative
  • Diplomatic - ability to tactfully work with differing opinions
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
