As part of Atlific Hotels, Copper Point Resort, Invermere's newest upscale Resort-Hotel, is the perfect complement to year-round luxury, relaxation, fun and athletic appetites. The 173 guest rooms and suites Resort is surrounded by the gorgeous Rocky Mountain views, championship golf courses, and nearby ski slopes.
The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of cleaning and servicing for all guest rooms, suites, restaurants, function / meeting rooms, and public areas in the hotel.
Ensure all guest rooms, suites, meeting rooms, and public areas are serviced and cleaned daily as per hotel standards;
Ensure all rooms and suites are cleaned as per standards as soon as they become vacant, and ensure a quick turnaround;
Ensure all rooms and suites receive the designated amenities;
Ensure an adequate supply of clean linen and in a good condition;
Ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials are always available;
Ensure rooms are checked regularly for repairs or refurbishing, and appropriate maintenance is completed;
Keep accurate count of rooms and suites available for check-in;
Inform the Executive Housekeeper about areas in need of attention or improvement;
Ensure the most suitably qualified candidate is appointed in vacant positions, and whenever possible ensure filling the position via an internal promotion;
Ensure all team members are trained and coached to perform their duties effectively;
Ensure attendance registers are completed daily and in accordance with statutory regulations;
Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner;
Ensure work scheduling rosters and staffing levels are correct, consistent and fair, as per the Standard Operating Procedures, and are not exceeded without permission;
Ensure staff accommodation is kept clean and in a good condition;
Ensure WHMIS and fire safety training and emergency evacuation drills are held regularly;
Ensure effective communication through meetings and dissemination of information regularly, completely, clearly, and timely;
Prepare and submit, in the required format, all information necessary for budgeting and reporting purposes;
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or the General Manager.
University Degree or College Diploma;
Housekeeping work experience in a management / supervisory capacity;
Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations regarding health and safety standards for hotel facilities;
Effective leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;
Well-developed ability to lead team members;
Problem solving skills, ability to develop alternatives and make effective decisions;
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in a diverse working environment;
Effective computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
Ability to follow through and complete concurrent projects;
High level of integrity, initiative, good judgment, reasoning and discretion;
Work well under pressure, independently and as a member of a team;
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment.
