POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of innovative programs based on established standards, policies and procedures, which will advance or maintain the lifestyle of residents and improve the overall delivery of health care.

The position of Manager requires that considerable attention be given to resident and family needs with time given to responding to their questions and concerns.

The Programs Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of Physiotherapy services, Rehabilitation/Restorative Care, Recreation, Volunteers, Purchase Services, Pastoral Care, Community Relations, and Palliative Care.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, kinesiology, therapeutic recreation or other related field from a community college or university,

Has previous experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting (3-5 years).

Demonstrates good leadership and organizational skills, creativity and high motivation

Knowledge of community resources and program development.

Knowledge of computer and associated applications are required.

CPR and First Aid qualifications
