Continental Steel Corporation is a growing oil pipe distributor located in downtown Calgary. We are currently looking for a full time accounting clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of accounting activities to maintain an effective and efficient office operation. The ideal candidate will start working on September 01 - 2014

Job Description:

  • Review and maintain accounting records
  • Perform daily bookkeeping and journalize daily transactions through accounting software
  • Review invoices and reconcile account statements
  • Investigate discrepancies and generate financial reports
  • Keep track of the inventory and perform inventory adjustments when necessary
  • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities and business transactions
  • Collect, count, and disburse money, and complete banking transactions
  • Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages


  • Accounting diploma or certificate and familiarity with QuickBooks is a definite asset;
  • Experience of working in a team environment
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • The ability of doing research over Internet and other resources
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
