Delivery Driver (truck) - FT seasonal (Former Employee) – Waterdown, ON – October 13, 2015
Nice, physical, busy job delivering plants, trees and soils/mulches in the Greater Toronto area.
The added "bonus" of working hard, outside during a beautiful summer and positive customer interaction afforded me ample opportunity to serve both the requirements of prompt courteous service to both the company and customers.
The co-workers and atmosphere on the job were excellent motivators to do the job effciently and courteously.
It was a beautiful summer and working outside was healthy and rewarding, particularly the customer service component was very gratifying.
Friendly co-workers generally, decent work environment
General Labourer (Former Employee) – Waterdown, ON – March 19, 2015
They had their general labour workers doing 12 hours per day 5 days per week and 10 hours on Saturday doing intense labour. Hiring more staff would have made the experience a lot better. Everyone I worked with seemed to have something bad to say about people above them. My co-workers were friendly and good sense of humour making the long days a lot easier. A lot of people came and went in the management due to disagreements. I enjoyed working there on the good days but overall the experience was average at best.
General Labourer (Former Employee) – Bayside, ON – October 11, 2012
Typical day: Hauled plants out to cars for customers, Swept pathway leading into the store, Kept the nursery clean, Labeled plants,
I was always learning everything, from how to label plants to how to stock plants, including spacing them perfectly. Most enjoyable part of the job was hearing how happy my one co-worker was. Hardest part was working for my parents.
