I learned of my love to help people in the medical field and work with all ethnic backgrounds
Medical Office Specialist (Former Employee), Lenexa, KS – February 18, 2013
Pros: upfront co-workers, benefits, no weekends
Cons: no overtime, job gurantee due to continual byouts, needed more high level training
The challenges every day, minute by minute decisions and loving the ever changing needs the job might produce , even without notice. I loved working the trauma assistance and PT areas. My front line warriors as I called them were the best in cooperation, assistance, team work and communication. We knew as individuals what needed to be done between the – more... 6 of us most of the time without a spoken word. When decisions were needed of an unknown origin we made it happen with the best of effort and above the call of duty, proud we figured even the tightest challenge without panic. – less

Corporate company
Front Desk Specialist (Current Employee), South Burlington, VT – February 18, 2013
Pros: variable day to day, hands on with patients
Cons: corporate
It's a corporate company with out of state directors calling the shots. Many things slide through the radar unfortunately. Once good management is established within the local clinic it is a good place to work with. Ability to move up is limited dependant upon the location and size of clinic. The day to day varies, therefore it's not the same mundane – more... every day. Face to face with patients is at large, which is enjoyable to see the reaction of patients and be able to hands on help. – less

Loved my job, Great experience!
Team Lead ERC Wellness (Former Employee), Northeast Ohio ERC Wellness Screenings – February 12, 2013
Concentra Health Solutions was a wonderful company. I enjoyed my job immensely and will definitely miss it. I signed on as PRN staff and was not entitled to benefits. This was the only drawback for me. My manager, the job I signed on for and the many opportunities to learn new things and grow professionally were all greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, – more... I worked for a division that is being closed and my job will no longer exist after this week. As stated I will miss this job. – less

Adminstrative Assistant
Adminstrative Assistant (Current Employee), Oklahoma City, OK – February 12, 2013
My primary duties as of now are to prepare materials and to perform onsite occupational health screenings at company locations throughout the Oklahoma City area. Also, during my time with Concentra I was in charge of scheduling, billing and performing flu shot events for the Oklahoma City region. We gave out over 2000 flu shots this past season and – more... part of my responsibilities were to track each and every one of those vaccinations and make sure that the company was billed for the service in a timely manner. – less

Assisting in the preparation of surgical setups (Former Employee), Franklin Park, IL – February 4, 2013
Pros: lots of hands on learning experience.
A very busy place where time flew. Everything I learned in school I got to apply at this company. The co-workers were very helpful. The hardest part of the job was just like at any job learning their policy's. The most enjoyable part of the job was all the experience I was receiving.

Terribly managed by middle management very unethical
Clinic Manager (Former Employee), Ohio – January 15, 2013
Pros: good salary and insurance. fantastic employees, when the cnp wasn't instigating them into poor performance
Cons: ethically challenged mid managers, extremely poor support from mid level staff, lack of training, terrible clinic support, continuous negative comments and detrmental comments with no eveidence to support.
I was hired to be a Clinic Manager and was lied to from day 1! They offered all kinds of "support" to help me get the clinic up and running. I never saw any of that support. I would call to ask for direction or assistance in some matter and would be told to "Look it up in the policy manual" or my favorite...Google it.

The District Manager was "too – more... busy" with other clinics to offer her full support. During Quarterly visits she did nothing but rip apart everything that was done by myself or the staff and berate me for my lack of skills. They were aware of from the get go, hence the support comments so they knew and accepted my professional limitations willingly.

I was hobbled by a CNP with performance issues, paranoia, an inferiority complex, and serious issues involving trusting of her fellow staff. She intentionally went out of her way to stir up malicious gossip about the entire staff, she did her best to undermine my managment skills and reported EVERY thing that went wrong in her eyes to the District Manager. I could go on but to what point?

The DM managed to take credit for my Year end Stweardship Report after I did all the leg work, which was the final straw that prompted my resignation. I was forbidden, her words, to contact the regional expert on this report for guidance due to "On going personal issues" between the DM and the Expert. I contacted her anyway and was written up for going behind the DM's back...I figured it was my reputation on the line during the stewardship presentation in front of the client so I had nothing to loose and everything to gain from her expertise! The best part was that after I resigned I was contacted by the client and was told that they knew WHO was responsible for the effort and all the hard work for the presentation was completed by and really appreciated all the time and energy that was put into it. – less

Roll of the dice
Medical Assistant (Former Employee), Amarillo, TX – January 13, 2013
Pros: working every where in the clinic
Cons: long physicals
I would never know what the day hold for me until I got to work and we had our meeting. There was 4 different areas you could be put into, drug screens and BAT, physicals, long physicals and urgent care. I would also be on call at least one week a month some times more. After we had our meeting we would either help the front desk checking in patients – more... or get our areas ready to go like our blood drawing kits or make sure the drugs screen cups was filled. I always like not knowing what was going to happen that day but it was also the worst part about it. – less
