Manufacturing Process Group Leader

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and supervision of manufacturing production teams for large-scale production & assembly processes
  • Providing motivation and mentorship to team associates, maintaining a focus on quality, productivity and safety
  • Accountable for meeting production cost, schedule, and productivity while maintaining world-class quality standards
  • Maintain compliance with the terms of local and national labor agreements
  • Implementation of divisional and corporate policies, were applicable
  • Ensure the execution of safe work practices and procedures
  • Implementation of safety and workplace standards
  • Train, develop, and evaluate employees on a regular basis
  • Keep management informed of and production issues or developments as they may occur
  • Maintains corporate management control systems and department records (Audit Reports and Information, Time Keeping System, Grievance Systems, etc)
  • Support overall objectives in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals
  • Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required
  • Support/implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • Leadership experience and abilities in providing effective supervision of teams up to 30 staff members
  • Demonstrated experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment, with general knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Analytical ability to allow for effective problem solving in time sensitive situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and nurture a productive work environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude for fostering teamwork and resolving conflict
  • Experience working in a unionized labour environment
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, ensure a safe industrial work environment
