Community residential worker (Former Employee) – Halifax, NS – 2 July 2017
I worked at CHS for a few months before realizing that it was not for me. It was an Unorganized company. No training or support from management. Sometimes you were thrown into a new house without any orientation or training. The only "good" part was the pay.
CHS is a small options homes for individuals with mental health diagnosis that require assistance.
Program Coordinator (Former Employee) – Halifax, NS – 9 May 2017
Aside from the benifits and RRSP there is a lot wrong with CHS. There is little ttainng and no support for new employees often left working alone in high work load homes with no support. Managent tends to belittle employees rather then coach. The over all organization is micromanaged with a few select employees used as favorites that gain all control. Very poorly run company from the top down. Great staff turnover from managers to support staff. Managers are run ragged with workloads far exceeding what could ever be managed. No regard for staff personal time. Calling support staff at all times days off etc after hours. All short staffed. Very unconstistant schedules.
being stuck on shifts when no staff, called after hours for work related issues
