Receiving Associate (Current Employee), West Chester, PAJanuary 22, 2014
typical work day is an 8 hours shift, where we just receive Verizon product in. only get three 10 minute breaks. The hardest thing about this job is the raise our numbers of products we have to receive in a day.

Had a lot of work in repair, when started here , then lost it with management decisions .
Repair technician (Former Employee), South Bend , IndianaJanuary 10, 2014
Pros: a lot work when first started, good pay, benefits ok
Cons: change of general management, and no trust, no respect at the end, had to make up for other slackers.
When we had a lot of work people were busy, in repair side , but the problem was either you had a lot of work and no parts , or a lot of parts and no work , testing equipment was ok , you tried your hardest to get a lot of work everyday , but things would come up
Like equipment went down , or had a lot of documents to know
To do the repairs the right – more... way. I learned to have patience and do the job the right WAY AND FASTER to get out more production.
MANAGEMENT now I can tell you that THE FIRST 10 years were good and WHERE THE BEST PEOPLE THAT I WORKED FOR
I PRAY THEY STAY MY FRIENDS FOR LIFE. I MISS MY CO WORKERS AND ALL THE 14 YEARS , I SPENT THERE WITH PEOPLE COMING AND GOING . THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOB WAS , WHEN MY NAME WAS CALLED TO THE OFFICE , AND I WENT INTO THE CONFERENCE ROOM AND WITH MY FRIENDS WHO WERE WITH ME WAS TOLD,
THIS WAS THE DAY AFTER MY BIRTHDAY WAS TOLD I WAS
LAID OFF FOREVER AT COMMUNICATION TEST DESIGN INC.
THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF MY JOB WAS THE PEOPLE
I GOT TO SAY HI TO EVERYDAY AT MY TEST BENCH, PLUS I LOVE KNOWING I WAS TAKING CARE OF THE COMPANIES
CUSTOMERS ON THE JOB I WAS DOING IN REPAIR EVERYDAY.
One last thing I would like to say is THE General Management at this place should have never been Changed, WHEN IT DID SO DID THE WORK, And The Good Workers. When THE FIRST GENERAL
MANAGER LEFT , SO DID THE ATTITUDE,THEN WE HAD SECURITY ,CAMERAS , SECURITY PEOPLE , ALOT MORE
TEMPS PEOPLE, THEN REGULAR FULL TIME PEOPLE. BUT
WHEN WE WERE A SMALL COMPANY, THE RIGHT COLLEGE PEOPLE OR MILITARY PEOPLE WHERE WORKING THERE
THE COMPANY WAS GREAT , BUT WHEN YOU GO GLOBLE
AND BIGGER YOU FORGET WHO GOT YOU THERE, THEN THERE IS CUTTING OF PEOPLE TO MAKE ROOM FOR MORE
UPPER MANAGEMENT AND MORE TEMPS TO CUT COST. – less

Never have enough work or the correct parts for your assignment
Electronic Technician Assistant (Current Employee), Nashville, TNJuly 9, 2013
Cons: never knowing if you are going to work
I rated CTDI on such a low scale because employees have to call in daily to see if there is work available. I don't consider that professional at all. Co-workers were always friendly and very helpful. Management always seemed to be more concerned with the quantity of output versus the quality of the products being refurbished. CTDI also charged clients – more... for new components when, the majority of the components came from scrapped, unusable products of the same or similar type. – less

Good pay, good job for college student or someone looking for temperary employment.
shipping clerk (Current Employee), Coatesville, PAJune 28, 2013
Pros: reasonable/good pay, easy clock in/clock out system, no time card, every week pay
Cons: not the best benefits, lack of respect to temps, bulk side 40 hours arent garanteed
The difficulty of the job really depends on where you are placed. For the most part the job is easy to learn. Every day will be something different there are no real typical days, being adaptable is helpful. Temp co-workers are very hard working. CTDI Employees are average workers. Management is good for the most part they help you as best as they can. – more... Most enjoyable part of The job for me forming friendships with co-workers that I feel add value and positivity to my life. – less

Good company that lost my respect and desire because of decline in managerial direction
Telecommunications Technician (Former Employee), Denver, COMarch 16, 2013
Pros: monthly incentive program, health insurance
Cons: repetitive grind
Repaired circuit cards for telco central office. Learned to work as a self motivator and developed expert skills on certain product lines thus reducing troubleshooting time. Management seemed unstable but immediate supervision was fine. Good group of co-workers. Hardest part was poor training and most enjoyable part was satisfaction of a job well done,,,,,and – more... the pay! – less

Slowly changing to all temporary employee environment with no oppotunity for advancement.
Manager for transition of Denver (Current Employee), Elgin, ILMarch 15, 2013
Lean/Six Sigma environment offers cross-training which is both helpful to the company and employee.
There are many chances to gain experience without advancing position. But there are almost no advances made without an existing position suddenly left open.
Co-workers are mostly contractors that have been with the company for 3 years.

Good Product,
Lead Technician (Former Employee), West Chester, PASeptember 23, 2012
I acquired new skills, 7-10 splicing and building new Verizon equipment. Management worked hard to get us the necessary supplies and equipment needed to succeed. My peers were all down to earth and collectively understood what we were trying to achieve.
A constant struggle would be the battle between logistics and installation as we (installation) put – more... a high demand on logistics to get us the items we needed in a timely manner as most of our job details were time sensitive. I relished the opportunity to learn something new each and everyday. – less

Tough place to work
Slave (Former Employee), Flower Mound, TXJune 1, 2012
Pros: good benefits especially health insurance
Cons: very rigid with schedules
Promotions are not based on merit or qualifications. The hardest part of the job is repair electronic units but without supply of components. One has to learn to be resourceful. Most workers are great it is the management that is hard to deal with. Most managers have not adapted to modern methods of running a business.

Pros: great management
Cons: hire mostly temporary employees
A very good company to work for. Be prepared for slow periods and if hired the required time off during these periods.
