  • Directors and back-office consists of 10 employees
  • Company wishes to recruit a Financial Controller to support the growth of the business
  • Position will be based at the company’s head office in Montreal, Quebec and will report to the CEO


  • Manage international travel expenses and implement cost control improvements
  • Manage RBS invoice finance facility
  • Posting all purchase invoices and travel expense claims
  • Posting all payments from bank statements
  • Preparing and posting month end journal entries including accrued income, cost of sales accruals, payroll and depreciation
  • Bank account and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing monthly aged debtors reports for US, CANADA and Asia-Pacific ledgers
  • Preparation of draft management accounts (P&L account, balance sheet and cash flow) for external review
  • Preparation of management information including revenue & GP analysis by client
  • Assist with improving internal documents and flow of information
  • Liaison with external accountants
  • Managing Sales Ledger Controller
  • Attend back office and finance meetings


  • Sage accounting system – fully conversant with all aspects of Sage
  • Microsoft Office – Excel (advanced) & Word
  • E-mail
  • Google Drive or similar document storage


  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly numerate
  • A good communicator – both oral and written forms
  • Confident and assertive personality
  • Capable of team work or working alone
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Willing to ask for help when required
  • Experience of working in a small company environment
  • Minimum of 3 years finance department experience
  • At least 2 years experience of managing/supervising employees
  • Excellent references

SALARY: $40-$50k - depending on experience
