This critical position is created to effectively support the College’s Career Services area in relation to assisting learners in developing realistic career goals and employability skills. This position also assists learners in finding and maintaining sustainable employment following their education at the College. A further responsibility is to help maintain accurate records for the College’s reporting requirements. The Career Services Advisor delivers career development workshops and the college skills for success course. This position also takes part in relationship marketing activities.
Post-secondary certificate/diploma/degree in a related field (i.e. Education, Business, Career Development, Counseling, etc.) One year recent related experience in the area of career services or career development. Experience working in a soft-sales environment Experience dealing with high volume inquiries, by e-mail and by phone. Intermediate level computer skills including: keyboarding at 60 wpm, word processing and data entry skills, spreadsheet development, and database and e-mail management. Training in counseling and career coaching is desirable for this position.
