Under the supervision and direction of the Director Human Services Programs, this professional will be responsible for the effective delivery of assigned course(s). Please see courses listed on our website. This will include out of class activities such as lesson planning, exam development, marking of assignments, tests, etc. This individual will be prepared to attend meetings and professional development events as part of their professional responsibilities. This individual will be assigned courses according to area of experitse on a casual basis throughout the year. Courses are taught in the evening and on Saturdays.
Significant experience, training, and education in the area you would like to teach. A Master’s degree is required.
Knowledge and experience working in a school classroom is a requirement for all courses that deal with education assistants and their role in the classroom. A teaching certificate would be a requirement for these courses.
Experience in facilitating coursework to adults.
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Knowledge and interest in the use of computer technology to deliver programs
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ethnic, cultural and socially diverse student populations
Knowledge of curriculum design and adult education practices
Salary: According to a grid that recognizes the number of students you will be teaching in your class. Hourly wage increases with the number of students in the class. $51 - $105 per hour
Our classes are taught on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30 - 9:30 p.m (one course) and second course on Saturdays 8:30 -5:00 p.m.; semester is 5 weeks long. Your commitment is to faciliatate for 9 classes. Casual work.
