PROJECT COORDINATOR ROLE - 1 year maternity leave

Under the support and guidance of the Business Unit Leader (BUL), the candidate is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) project by facilitating internal operations and external requirements. The candidate will work cooperatively with other employees and clients, as a resource coordinator, towards the goals of Cole Engineering.

The candidate’s prime responsibility is to assist and facilitate Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) operations and projects. In this capacity, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating field staff and ensure appropriate resources are available, ensure and monitor capture of external utility information such as facility owner data and locates, source and coordinate all required permits, traffic control plans and other documentation as required, coordinate with subcontractors, clients and other 3rd parties. It is expected that the candidate will prepare and maintain databases of sources of information towards improving efficiencies and permitting quality control.

In this capacity the candidate will be expected to forge relationships with Cole’s common subcontractors and utility contacts to improve overall efficiencies of communication. Additionally, there will be opportunity for the candidate to liaise directly with the client and the client’s project team as the capabilities are nurtured and demonstrated.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
*Coordinate activities associated with the requirements of the SUE field teams including permit acquisition, equipment rental, subcontractor coordination, securing utility record drawings, securing utility locates, securing and maintaining appropriate inventory of supplies, etc.
*Develop and maintain databases of utility contacts for securing maps, records and locates.
*Ensure prompt updates of all information.
*Liaise and consult with clients and subcontractors, as necessary, to assist with overall project flow.
*Participate in all meetings and sessions as required.
*Prepare documents and materials for both internal use and external subcontractors.
*Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while dealing with any/all of the following: fellow Cole staff, utility representatives, public or private industry individuals.
*Support Business Development initiatives, such as completing information research for proposal preparation, attending company marketing functions and client meetings.
*Manage and coordinate tasks and duties as required.
*Conduct day-to-day job tasks in accordance to legislated and Company dictated Environmental, Health and Safety mandates.

Qualifications include:
*Minimum 5 years experience in a similar type role.
*Effective organizational and interpersonal skills to work within a team and customer oriented environment.
*Excellent English writing and verbal skills.
*Strong self-management and technical writing skills.
*Effective communication skills coupled with good basic computer skills.
*Strong work ethic, motivation and judgment skills.
