The Gallery Sales Associate position requires a candidate who can establish, build and retain client relationships as well as perform administrative duties. Sales are what drive our business, so if you have the talent, desire and motivation to meet targets, then we want to meet you. Aside from your ability to work well with clients, you must be a team player and have the organizational skills and focus to accomplish the day-to-day tasks of running a gallery. High-end retail sales experience is mandatory
A university or college degree in an associated field and/or in pursuit of a post-secondary education is an asset
Previous gallery experience is preferred
Previous office and/or administrative experience required (minimum 1 year)
Self-motivated, self-reliant and capable of working independently
Superior initiative, organizational and time management skills is mandatory
High achiever in professional sales and service
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
Capable of a hands-on style with a willingness to learn, work as a team, and take on new responsibilities as required
Goal oriented in achieving tasks and managing daily activities
Expertise in photography with a 35mm and/or digital camera is preferred
Computer knowledge: operating Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express is required; operating Photoshop 10.0 or higher is preferred
Experience maintaining a client database and/or web site is an asset
Ability to work within a flexible weekly schedule

Preference given to applicants with a strong interest or specific knowledge in Pacific Northwest Coast First Nation's and Inuit art and culture
Description of Position:
Requires a mature, confident, dependable individual to take on key gallery responsibilities within a highly professional and intimate team environment
Professional handling of sales in person and online
Flexibility in performing various day-to-day gallery operations: dealing with the public, displaying artwork, organizing and maintaining extensive jewelry collection, photography, developing and completing new projects, inventory management, assisting in organizing and executing tasks relevant to exhibitions
Assisting in research, writing and development of information documenting artists and artwork
Assisting in the development of bi-annual/annual exhibitions or special events
Database maintenance and prospecting clients
Web site maintenance
