POSITION STATUS: Permanent, Full-time
DEPARTMENT: Industrial Services, South
Reporting directly to the Brooks Area Manager, this position is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the day to day operations within the fabrication shop in the Brooks Industrial Services division.
This role includes the management of staff, including QA/QC, Shop Supervisors, Welders, and
Production Foreman. This individual will play a parallel role to the Maintenance Manager, and will work closely with this position.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Direct and coordinate activities of the Fabrication area in order to best utilize company
equipment, facilities and human resources.
Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and
procedures to improve company performance.
Work with other managers and staff members in reviewing and implementing schedules, policies, processes and objectives.
Manage up to 7 million a year in fabrication business.
Monitor spending to ensure expenses are consistent with the approved budgets.
Report directly to the Brooks Area Manager to provide regular updates on all company business,
both new and ongoing.
Monitor measure and report on operational issues and opportunities.
Ensure that great effort is emitted towards the safety and security of company property,
employees, customers, and customers’ property.
Analyze and report on the department’s key performance indicators.
Investigate, verify and resolve any customer issues that may arise.
Ensure activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management,
health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
Work in conjunction with HR for recruitment, hiring, terminations, and performance management.
Provide leadership, support, and guidance to your team.
Lead the estimating team for in-shop work.

Strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to create and maintain accurate and organized documentation including scheduling and
forecasting of fabrication projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Have a good understanding of fabrication processes.
Able to interpret, evaluate and apply regulations, policies and procedures to wide variety of work
Proficient with core computer programs.
CET and/ or PMP considered an asset.
Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in the fabrication industry.
Minimum 5 years’ of piping and structural steel experience.
Minimum 5 years’ working in fabrication shop environment.
