Pros: strong wages for tasks. good co-workers. safety minded. good hours.
Cons: difficult to get on full time, and gain seniority. city council mis-spend finances.
I worked as a labourer on and off for several years, and in several departments. The wage is more than reasonable for the work asked to be performed. The coworkers I worked around were almost all very good people. I had no direct problems during my term with any management in any department, they are all quite reasonable and fair. I only have two issues
– more... with the organization and those are: It is very difficult to get year round work and even enough hours to gain seniority with the union, and the city council have a tendency to mis-spend money, thereby robbing the departments of valuable resources. – less
