The City of North Vancouver has made significant progress since joining the federal Partners for Climate Protection program in 1997. At approximately five tonnes per person, our municipality's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are among the lowest in Canada.
We aim to do better.
2005 marked an important point in the City's commitment to sustainability. We became the first municipality in Metro Vancouver, only the second municipality in BC and one of the first municipalities in Canada to adopt a Local Action Plan for GHG reduction.
