Equipment Operator (Former Employee) – Lloydminster, SK – 29 May 2017
I learned a lot about new equipment, and landscaping experience. The hours were reasonable, and most of the employees were easy to get along with. One thing that was a bit challenging was learning how to deal with the public since as a city employee, they are watching your every move.
Lifeguard (Former Employee) – Lloydminster – 15 May 2017
They payed well, but there were many times when they broke CUPE rules of when they can schedule you or just put you on a shift without telling you about it and there was not 3 days advance notice like it was said to have.
Not managed well, high stress work envirnment with high stress management to work with
Police Steno/911 Operator (Former Employee) – Lloydminster, AB – 5 December 2014
A typical day at work was very answering phone calls from people who needed help. I learned that if a company is not run by a good management team the business does not/can not function properly. My co-workers were all stressed out and their stress level showed in their daily work. The hardest part of the job was trying to find a balance between loving your job and not having support from management. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with my co-workers and helping the public.
