The City of Brooks’ Public Works Department has an immediate opening for a Maintenance I position. This is a permanent, entry level position in which the successful applicant will be able to perform various manual labour duties including, but not limited to assisting in labour projects and maintenance of the work site. Experience would be preferred but not essential, as on the job training will be provided.
The successful applicant must have completed the twelfth (12th) school grade, or equivalent, and must possess a Class 5 Operator’s License. The applicant must have the ability to operate equipment, and single axle gravel trucks, and must have the willingness to obtain Q Endorsement and Class 3 license. Applicants must be bondable.
The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefit package with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1032. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. The 2013 salary range for this position is $20.32/hr. to start - $22.33/hr. after one year.
