The City of Brooks’ Public Works Department has an immediate opening for a Maintenance II position. This is permanent position in which the successful applicant will be able to perform various duties including, but not limited to operating all equipment that is required to do the necessary duties and ensuring that equipment is in safe operating condition; also will ensure that all safety regulations are followed and that all Alberta First calls are made appropriately.
The successful applicant must have completed the twelfth (12th) school grade, or equivalent, and must possess a Class 3 Operator’s License with Q-Brake Endorsement. The applicant must be able to operate the following equipment: vac truck, garbage tandem truck, back hoe and loader, bobcat, tractor and blower, sander truck, and street sweeper. Applicants must be bondable.
The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefit package with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1032. The starting 2013 salary is $22.33 per hour with room for advancement. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.
