Laidback office to work in.
Debit Clerk-Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Mesa, AZ5 January 2018
The office staff worked when we had a deadline. usually toward the end of the month. Fun place. A typical day at work was first thing in the morning was to pick up the mail, date stamp, sort and distribute the mail. Next I would print out my daily debit and fax or email to appropriate company and request credits as needed.
Call on customers as needed.

No structure
Stores Manager (Current Employee) –  Florence, SC3 January 2018
City Electric Supply Florence would be much better with a branch manager that knew how to structure a work day instead of just hiring his friends. City Electric Supply Company overall is a great place to work if you are/have a branch manager that knows his position.

Delivery Driver/Warehouse/Counter Sales (Current Employee) –  Lake Zurich, IL27 December 2017
City Electric Supply would be a fantastic place if someone paid attention to what was going on more at branches besides watching just numbers and blocking out the rest. My example would be my branch manager coming and going as he pleases and using company vehicles for their own personal use like moving his house and leaving personal material in the company box truck and then having employees take it out and store it at the branch. No! When higher ups were told about this absolutely no corrective action was taken even with numerous customer complaints. This happens with management at more than one store which allows a high turnover rate and pushes some very good people to leave the company. The minimal oversight from corporate is both a very good thing in the fact that your business can be run the way you want it but also a very bad thing for the reasons explained. There is a lot of potential to make a lot of money here and I've seen it happen to good, attentive branches but that involves good management to be put in place.
Pros
Run your business the way you see fit, potential to make really good money
Cons
You could potentially end up with a terrible management

Warehouse Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Calhoun, GA27 December 2017
It was terrible. The management was uneducated and had no idea about anything accounting related. It was also very hard to keep in contact with the "accounting team" in Charleston. Point Blank.

Home Office Employee (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TX22 December 2017
Very poor communication from upper management. Decisions made by management do not take those actually doing the work into account. Do not provide the resources needed to complete tasks.

lacks upper management
Warehouse Specialist (Former Employee) –  Houston, TX14 December 2017
Overall I enjoyed working at my particular branch, it was a very close knit group and everyone gets along. The hours were fine 7-3, getting paid hourly wasn't ideal. I just believe that upper management doesn't really know their employees and they tend to promote certain employees who don't nearly work as hard as others, but since they like them they go ahead and promote them. PTO days are a joke, you only get 5 days until you reach two years with the company and hardly have any vacation days.
Pros
laid back and not a lot of employees
Cons
hardly any PTO days, bad management, low wages

I would not recommend this particular CED/Greetech location as a "great work environment." I experienced the most unprofessional "superior" and super rude coworker.

Store Manager I (Former Employee) –  Flagstaff, AZ30 September 2017
Branch manager at CES was very good. His son was the store manager and he was a tyrant. No patience at all in the training of new employee's. When I received the store manager the work became much better.
Pros
Close to home
Cons
Hostile work environment.

Good Entry Level Job
Branch Manager (Current Employee) –  Pasadena, TX17 September 2017
This is not a company to finish you career at our grow in. Management isn't supportive nor knowledgeable on dealing with larger customers. Branches are very limited on what they are allowed to do at times and a lot of micro management.
Pros
Good place to start entry level
Cons
Terrible management, want to only do counter business at most locations

Warehouse Manager (Former Employee) –  Madison, WI12 September 2017
My overall experience with this company was great. If it weren't for my medical issue I would still be working there to this day. If you can manage to make it past the long hours this is a great place to work and make a career.
Pros
Good pay and quality workers
Cons
Long hours and high stress levels

Management dictates the culture and success in this company. Not all management is good but that is very common in the society we live in today. Love the flexibility and customer interaction.

Laid back Atmosphere. Needs better overall structure
Help Desk Support (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TX16 August 2017
Laid back atmosphere but has no structure or process in place to handle certain issues. This is just a job, not a career. Certain managers are unprofessional and lie to employees about the job roles. Benefits and insurance are not all that great. Only get 2 weeks of vacation.
Pros
laid back atmosphere
Cons
better benefits and better overall structure
