We're a leading importer and distributor of fine wines from around the world. As a result of our rapid growth we are searching for an individual who is ready to work permanent full time with us as a Graphic Designer.

Wage: $ 25 per hour

Work hours: 40 hours per week.

Educational Requirements: A post secondary degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, or related area is required. Professional photography experience/knowledge is a definite asset. Additional graphic web design program knowledge is a plus.

Skills required: The qualified candidate will possess the ability to follow direction and original concept designs with ease and be able to meet timelines and quality expectations for each project. The successful candidate will have strong typography and print production skills, a solid design portfolio demonstrating interactive work and advertising design knowledge and/or proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Flash.

Work Experience: 1 year or more is sufficient.

Main Duties:
Applicants must be detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be comfortable with distractions and an open door policy.
In accordance with the Company’s reputation and field in mind, establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials in order to meet their needs.
Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication.
Develop the graphic elements that meet the company’s objectives and goals.
Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief;
Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches;
Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements of the subjects to be rendered using traditional tools, multimedia software and image processing, layout and design software
Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations, by hand or using computer-assisted design (CAD) software for company’s brochures
Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides to produce images that meet the company’s communications needs.
Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials, such as Websites, CD-ROMs, interactive terminals, etc.
Work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and internet website.
Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size.
Preparing rough drafts of material based on agreed brief.
Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
