(Developmental)Support Workers assist persons with developmental disabilities to find a satisfying and purposeful place in their community by enhancing their quality of life and promoting personal growth. Support Workers foster community inclusion, assist with activities of daily living, promote the implementation of person-centered plans, and may also assist with aspects of personal care. Ideal candidates have education and experience in Developmental Services or a related field. A Developmental Service Worker Diploma is a preferred qualification, as are valid a “G” Driver’s License, First Aid/CPR and Non Violent Crisis Intervention certification. Computer literacy and a commitment to the Person-Centered-Support model of support are essential assets.
