Carter (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – July 4, 2012
A typical day would start around 5pm till 9-10pm at Chinook Mall. Sometimes the mall would be busy which made it harder for us Carters to move the statues throughout the mall. But it was fairly easy work for decent money. What I learned while I worked there was that it takes serious skill to stand on a wooden box posing for 30-45 minutes. The management was always busy making sure that the statues were feeling good and that their costumes were feeling comfortable. Management was always the busiest i thought, just cause they were always the first to be there and the last to leave. My co-workers were friendly and were easy to get along with. Everybody did there part as carters to get the statues to and from there destinations. Each carter was basically always on the run to drop off, pick up or even do both. The hardest part of the job was that when the malls got really busy it was hard to maneuver around people. Sometimes you'd have little kids blocking the way cause they were excited to see all the different statues. The most enjoyable part of the job was that when the statues came out people were excited to see them, especially little children.
