CSCL in partnership with community, provides quality, individualized supports to enhance the lives of adults with developmental disabilities, children and youth with special needs and their families.
The primary function of this position is to provide meaningful, personalized support for individuals in the following areas:
-Adults with Developmental Disabilities:
Day Services, Staffed Residential Resources, Community Outreach, Independent Living, Life Skills Programs, and Supported Employment.
-Children & Youth with Special Needs:
Community Respite, After School - Kidz Clubs, Teen Clubs, Saturday program in Hope, Child & Youth Care Workers, Teen Clubs, Transition Planning (BRIDGE), Summer Teen Program, Hope Teen Program, Summer 'Scapes (fully integrated Summer Day Camp).*
Qualifications & Experience:
Successful applicants will have relevant post-secondary education and/or experience in supporting individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of current issues and practices, human values in delivery of service, and a strong ability to plan and work independently while actively involving individuals in this process. A positive and pleasant work attitude, effective communication skills and the ability to relate positively to the public are essential.
Must possess or be willing & able to obtain a valid BC Class 4 Drivers License, Emergency First Aid/CPR Certification, Food Safe and be able to meet all other CSCL employment criteria (eg. TB Skin Test, Clear Criminal Record Check, Medical Certificate, etc.).
