Go elsewhere
Night Shift Manager (Former Employee), Gillman – January 14, 2013
Pros: bbq every fortnight. good money.
Cons: lack of trust from above.
An extremely difficult environment with most previous night shift supervisors holding their positions for only a very short time.
High staff turnover due to the nature of work and demands placed upon employees.
If working in this environment for 5 years was used as a reference guide for a persons character or endurance under duress then it would be – more... the best reference available for finding another job. – less

Fast pace
Pallet Repair (Former Employee), Orlando, FL – January 2, 2013
Pros: overtime
Cons: they were having managment issues
Hard work, something my body had to get use to. Lifting 80 pound pallets for 8 hours, hammering nails were they are needed on both sides of the pallets, throwing the very bad pallets to get rerepaired, witha goal of 500 pallets a day per two man team. A very good learning experience because it was something that I've never done before. The most hardest – more... part about the job was the body aches at the end of the day. – less

Professional, Teaches you to be highly adaptable, Offers many opportunties to grow with-in the company
Customer Care Coordinator (Former Employee), Orlando, FL – October 23, 2012
Pros: wonderful co-workers, great benefits, many social work related activities to bring us closer etc
Cons: high stress environments - but worth it!
This is by far the best company I've had the pleasure of working for. I have nothing but positive feelings towards CHEP and my former CHEP family. I had to leave due to personal issues following my mother's death. I would be more than honored to rejoin this company.

Worst place to provide for your family
Repairman (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – October 16, 2012
Pros: ok pay while you're on your probation period
Cons: not safe, too much contamination, not enough pay
This job is a rip off. They expect you to build or rebuild 65 lb pallets for .37 each and if it isnt done the way the qc wants it they flip it off the line. Come on really? Not for .37.If I had a second chance I wouldn't dare try this company. The belt line breaks every other day. The maintenance men are disrespectful and couldn't fix anything if their – more... job depended on it. I can honosetly say you will regret working here. Theres rats, roaches, and all types of creatures. One time they sent a pallet down with a nest of black widow spiders and oh yea by the way you don't get benefits til a year later... To sum it all up, this isn't a great place for you to turn your life around unless this is your last resort. – less

productive and learning on the run
Supervisor (Current Employee), Longmeadow, Modderfontein – October 13, 2012
Pros: cellphone allowance and shift allowance
Cons: long hours with no overtime
Start shift at 6 in the morning, checking what the stock levels are like to plan the production for the day, every three hours to send an updated production report to managment, and at the end of the shift to combine all reports to one and finalise the days work
i have gained lots of managmens skills and find it a lot more likable to work with a team.
managment – more... are always challenging to keep satisvied but i try my best to improve to the best of my compatibilities.
co-workers are fun to work with as shift change overs we get to learn more of the tasks that lay ahead
the hardest part of my job is just to keep the customer happy as we work on their site
the thing i like most of my job is that I learn on the run as we get to be sent for different train sessions – less

It was a fun and interesting place to work
Receptionist/Admin (Former Employee), Johannesburg – October 11, 2012
Pros: yes we occasionally had free lunch
Cons: no advancement
I have learned a lot since I first joined CHEP. The experience I had was quite amazing and beneficial.I enjoyed working with both internal and external clients. The most enjoyable part of the job is that it actually opened my mind to look further than my daily tasks. I could easily accomplish all assignments that were given to me without any difficult.

Busy, Fast Paced, Poorly Managed
Customer Service Executive (Former Employee), Trafford Park – August 31, 2012
Pros: could be flexible when required
Cons: poor management
While working for CHEP I have been primarily responsible for a select portfolio of “National Accounts”. I have been a one point of contact for up to 150 companies where they can come to discuss issues, queries or complaints. Once they have made contact it would be my role to resolve queries or disputes but completing a full RCA on the issue and putting – more... stops in place to ensure that it did not happen again. On a day to day basis I can take between 20 – 30 calls and the same in emails, this makes for a very busy and fast paced atmosphere, in which I find I work very well. I have been involved in recent projects within the company reviewing and renewing processes and successfully training and rolling out the process across other departments in Europe as well as UK and Ireland. – less

day at the office
Client Contact Person (Former Employee), Cape Town Western Cape – August 9, 2012
Pros: industry exposure
Cons: co-workers that are moody
First thing would be the stand up meetings so to review the previous day's work and share any new developments.
I learned the importance of team work and how imparative it is to share information.
i learned that one needs to understand co-workers as they have different personalities, tolarance and unity is critical as far as co-workers are concerned.
Hardest – more... part of the job was difficult clients, one needs to be verry cautious on how to deal with key clients.
Most fun part would be the celebrations after targets are met. – less

Productive, Team Player, Self Starter, easy to get along with
Shipping & Receiving Coordinator (Former Employee), Orlando, FL – June 6, 2012
Pros: free dinner, great work environment, etc.
Cons: no cons, the pros outweigh the cons
A typical day at work consist of handling customer inquiries, answering phones, billing out invoices, etc. Everyday at work is a learning experience, you can never know to much. I do have management skills, every so often we would get new hires so, I would train & supervise them until they felt comfortable enough to be on their own. I got along great – more... with my co-workers. Sometimes the stress level could be a little high but, most times, it was laid back. I enjoyed & loved my co-workers. I looked forward to going to work everyday. I would bring in cheesecake for the fellas, etc. It was an enjoyable place to work, I have no complaints for or from my co-workers or supervisors. – less
